Point Blank: The Sweet Tea Party

Point Blank: The Sweet Tea Party
By Aiwal Ture
The past several years have brought about a change for many people and their lives; as life is supposed to change and nothing stays the same forever. It either evolves into something better or becomes worse. We have a president who ran on the emphasis of bringing about a change. But from studying history, when change takes place, a gap is developed by those who are at ease and comfortable with their way of life and those who demand change. Now prior to our current president (Barack Obama) there was a great sense of dissatisfaction among a significant size of the country’s population due to the former president (George W. Bush). As I have learned recently is that it only takes 30% of a population to be dissatisfied to bring about a change, and from the look of things this number exceeded 30%. Being that the “United” States of America is a so called democracy we all have the right to agree and/or disagree. There is nothing wrong with this. But when the disagreeing turns into all out disrespect and racism, one must ask what is the driving factor behind the disagreement. It is fine to disagree with policies you feel will affect you negatively such as healthcare, education, etc. but when the disagreeing turns into a word battle of slurs and extreme disrespect, there is a problem; as this creates HATE. Out of all my years of living and the surviving of some horrible presidents, I have never seen certain citizens in so much outrage. It appears to be more than policies fueling this rage. I’ve seen these crowds of thugs, ruffians, and barbarians gather and chant some of the most vile (morally despicable) comments and hold very negative pictures of our current president. Some have signs comparing him to Adolf Hitler. Wow! Some scenes from these rallies look like scenes from the 1940’s to the 60’s. Well I guess the foundation and core of this country continues to expose itself to the world. It appears that the mask is slowly but surely coming off certain parts of our population. Events such as Hurricane Katrina and rallies by these gangs called the Tea Party should really not surprise us on how certain people feel. If many members of this crowd are so eagerly willing to make such savage and racist comments about the president, how do they really feel about the young man they cheer on who is of the same race as the president running that football down the field for their Alma Mater or favorite team. Hmmm?
Point Blank:
When people think of tea they think of a sweet tasty drink on a hot summer day. But due to some savage goons this drink has become unbearable to drink due to the sour lemons added to the “party”. Although our country is titled the “United “States of America, the only things united are the actual land boundaries of the 48 connected states. Americans only unite during sporting events, then disperse back to hating each other; idiots. When I see males in old colonial uniforms and signs reading “Obama Plan= White Slavery” I really have to question the motive behind them. Is it that they really disagree with the policies being proposed? Or is it they are worried because of their forefather’s past actions. This country could really evolve into something great but it is in reverse at the moment. There is a huge blame game towards the president. In that case, there is another population that should be raising a lot more hell about the large companies that built this empire with the free labor, blood, sweat, and tears of their ancestors. I hear and see a comment many of the Tea Party people say is “they are taking back their country”. I say to them please let me know who took it. Please!
